Ambush Airsoft Anniversary Weekend - Day 2
A great second day for the weekend anniversary extravaganza!
There were some sore and tired people from the previous night game but also a big crowd of fresh meat, i mean players. :-)
It was also a blazing hot day and glad there were plenty of reload breaks to bomb up and hydrate.
There was also a photographer from Studio 13 photography taking candid shots of the day and slightly more arranged shots during lunch - cant wait to look through mine and order a couple - i absolutely did not prance about with a smoke grenade! ;-)
All in all it was a brilliant two days from the marshalls and site team, the hardcore regulars and some very enthusiastic rentals.
I now just needs to lie down for a few da...

Ambush Airsoft Cobham - Anniversary Weekend - Day 1
Просмотров 4382 года назад
Ambush Airsoft Celebrating its 1st year Anniversary on 7th and 8th May 2022. Part one is the Saturday evening/night game, i didnt hit record on a couple of games and the GoPro didnt like the night elements at all so i have tried to show what was visible and give a feel for the fighting in the pitch black! Great weekend had by all though it was a cold night for those that camped over, John's WW2...

Ambush Airsoft - Cobham 1 May - Part 1
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 года назад
Great game day at Ambush Airsoft in Cobham - non stop games, marshalls on point as always, BBQ lunch and a really good bunch of players. This is my second time using the GoPro and hopefully the footage is a little better this time. I remembered to record most of the matches and had extra batteries so got the whole day, down side I had hours of footage so have split into two videos.

Carving Designs - Function Over Form

DIY Bottlecap Waterproof Containers

Following on from our recycled bottle cordage I though I would show you another way to use up the leftover parts of the bottle. I have seen these containers used for just about everything from salt and pepper, herbs and spices and cooking oils to match safes, tinder containers and medication holder. Its really just down to the size you make your imagination.
A Very Belated Happy New Year

A belated Happy New Year and an apology for the radio silence over Christmas. Its been a very busy few weeks visiting friends and family then straight back into work. How Long Should Carving Take?
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.5 лет назад
A few thoughts on how long should it take to carve something. Now this is a very emotive subject and the short answer, in my view, is as long as it takes. I get asked this question a lot and it comes down to several factors from the wood and tools you are using to your skill level, amount of free time etc... My biggest tip is don't rush, take your time and enjoy the carving. The worst experienc...

DIY Recycled Cordage from Plastic Bottles

Recycling plastic bottles for camp cordage. Now this isn't great cordage but it very useful for lashings and other fixed structure, just don't try hanging your tarp or hammock from it. It isn't biodegradable so i would only recommend it for fixed camps or in a real emergency.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to apologise for buying a Ray Mears knife. By the same token I also don’t understand why others feel the need to criticise and whinge about the cost in the first place. At the end of the day it’s MY money and I’ll spend it on what I want - because I can.

Sulfur matches like this date back to medieval times or earlier -- as long ago as people could make steel that would strike a spark from a flint (or made sparks from pyrites, which don't require hard steel because the spark is from the pyrite instead of the steel). This is what would have been used to light a candle or lamp if, for instance, your bedside candle had gone out or you were coming home in the dark after being out. These would have been part of any fire kit prior to the 19th century invention of self-lighting matches like Lucifers.

The rears of the cartridges might be the same. But having looked closely at the front ends of the cartridges on my TV, the amount of brass around the shell opening is very noticeably thicker making the opening ever so slightly smaller than on the steel pellet cartridge. I would seriously heed Umarex's warning and stick to BB's in the brass shells. And pellets in the silver steel shells

I need some slip stones for my carving gouges. I purchased a CHEAP dual sided India sharpening stone thinking I could cut it up to the shapes and sizes I needed without paying $50 or $150 for a good slip stone set. This idea I like better. Note, I do have a tile cutting saw with a diamond blade. Thanks for this.

09:45 - I think the main question here as to knives that you have to justify is, are there any legal precedents one might cite, for example, of someone having a larger knife than 3" and/or with a locking mechanism or a fixed blade, out in woodland for the purposes of bushcraft, whittling etc, where they successfully defended their use of the knife as a justifiable use, a "good reason" under the law?

It looked like the bottom of that had a stamp on it. I’m willing to bet that stamp says”TDC”. That would be for T D Cash Company who actually makes the brass box. As far as I know, Beaver Bushcraft isn’t stamping metal. T D Cash makes just about all the brass, copper, and other metal period pieces, and yes, you can order directly from them through their website without the mark up.
